Hattie's Chicken - Business for Good

In the heart of Albany was an empty Italian restaurant waiting for new life. Business for Good (BFG), which turns restaurants into nonprofits, had the vision to make this charming location the next Hattie's Chicken. BFG purchased the historic building in 2021 to restore it and breathe new life into the community. Hattie's has become a popular culinary destination whose profits are donated to combat hunger and food insecurity.

FSDS worked closely with the BFG team to revitalize the space. You will find a fully restored bar, restaurant dining, and event space within the footprint of this building. The design included restoring the old bar and installing new bar equipment. The dining room and banquet area were redesigned but kept the original charm and added some of Hattie’s Chicken history to the experience. The main kitchen, dishwashing, catering kitchen, and storage area were outfitted with all-new commercial kitchen equipment, including a new keg cooler.
