Culinary Lab is one of the largest and fastest growing classes at Oswego BOCES. The existing lab was old and poorly configured. The design intent was to create an open lab with multiple stations for student learning and space for assignments to be completed.
The existing space, along with some adjacent space was renovated to house the new culinary lab and new serving kitchen. A completely new look and layout has all the new students excited to attend class. Combination cooking, blast chilling, along with many new concepts in food service technology were introduced, creating the lab envisioned by the entire team.
Students and instructors are enjoying the expanded and spacious new lab with all new equipment. Large stations are spread throughout the space incorporating prep areas, bakery, cooking lab, along with dry storage track shelving system.
