The Middle School needed a complete new kitchen due to age, condition, and work flow issues. All the mechanical components were old and needed to be replaced. A make-shift serving line in the cafeteria also needed to be replaced and relocated.
Dishwashing was reconfigured, hood and cooking equipment relocated, new combination ovens were installed, and the prep space was re-organized to create more efficient operations with all new equipment. The new serving lines have solid surface tray slides with lights underneath, hot and cold stations, and plenty of storage.
Layout changes in the kitchen created a more conducive work space for the food service staff. The cafeteria renovation boasts of the school colors with new serving equipment with many self-service items as well as a traditional line in the main kitchen.
